OK, but .....

I like this park, because of the really nice people and the price, but leveling a coach is a major challenge. We dealt with that. Although the people are friendly towards our dogs, it?s not dog friendly, in that there is no place for them to have a good run. They had an arena open, but then locked it up. We can take them to the beach, but it requires a leash (can?t run free) or has too many dogs (scary). This is a little harder to deal with and may be a deal killer in the future.

Rating for the Location & Staff

The Monterey Fairgrounds RV Park location is what attracted us to stay there. Also, the Staff is beyond great.
Some may not like the "parking lot" atmosphere. It truly is a parking lot turned RV park. But, with careful choice of site, it will work for you.
There is daytime noise from the surrounding area including the adjacent Monterey Airport runway. We have a small Airstream with good sound insulation properties. The noises could be a deterrent to many.
We bike and walk the streets and extensive bike paths, close by. That is why we like the location so much.
The park can accommodate up to very large, bus type RVs.

Close to everything Monterey/Carmel

On our maiden voyage with our new travel trailer, we decided to stay in Monterey for the weekend. This place is very easy to get to just about 5 minutes from the freeway. The staff was very friendly and even helped me back up into the stall. Full hook ups -water, sewer, electric and with Internet WiFi at some stalls. Have bathrooms, showers all very clean! There are washer/dryers too and an ATM on the grounds. CVS Pharmacy is 1 block away. Only 10 minutes away from the Monterey Bay Aquarium. You do hear plane noise from the airport and you are next to a golf course. Other than that, was really quiet. Considering the proximity of this RV park to the pier and the aquarium, you will not be disappointed.
