Traveler Reviews
Great views
Great views, but felt a bit creepy as we arrived at night and were the only people at the campsite.
Water in the lake was clear that you could see fish swimming around. Few ducks, which was nice entertainment of you travel with a toddler.
Pirates Cove Resort
Is the new name for this campground. Full hookups on the pininsula for $50. Feb weekday special was buy 2 nites get 1 free. Choosing the A or D spots in most cases gets you the better spot. River is beautifully clean. Fishing was slow in Feb. Staff will work with you if you don't like your space. Store offers very limited assortment. Bar drinks were 2 for $20 but you can keep the small plastic souvenir cup. Free shuttle to pick you up is available plus tip. April is when the party gates open. We'll be back and be more selective of the space number.
Great price
although some spots are hard to get into this place is great for the price, $260 a month for full hook-ups @50 amp. Front office people will work with you in order for you to fit whatever unit you have. The snowbirds are a very friendly lot but a few of them try to position their unit in such a manner that it discourages someone from camping next to them. It's beautiful to be on the river for a month or more.
