Traveler Reviews
An average campground where a little TLC would go a long ways
Most recent stay was 04-26-16 [I’m late with submitting my review] ~ We camp in a "Tear Drop” style RV only 15' long w/o toilet or shower ~ plus we like to eat outdoors using the picnic table and set up our dining fly for sun and weather protection and thus rely on condition of campgrounds facilities and being nearby our site ~ so our critique is focused in that area.
Evidence this was once KOA; with A-Frame shape of office building and sites all crammed close together with about a 4’ strip of grass between barely room for the small picnic table. It’s an older park – we got lucky close to restroom with an asphalt pad while many others were on gravel - didn’t need any blocks to level. Older shower / restroom facility but kept clean – looking at gallery of pictures on their web site, appears they “spruced up” the restroom/shower facility since we stayed their. I included our pictures and notice the apparent improved difference. Still don’t know if they have the older fixtures and my comments were to improve by doing some painting and upgrading the fixtures, replacing the rubber floor mats, in and outside of shower stalls, adding conveniences of hooks and shelving for your stuff. The stalls are very tight 3’, I think, and changing area same that includes a small stool. Sink and vanity area is roomy, but again no hooks or shelves to hold your stuff.
Also appears they improved overall appearance of the park with added gravel and sprucing up - Park is in industrial area along side of freeway, but sound barrier wall kept noise at bay – newer shopping center complex close by [approx 3 mi] with Wal-Mart and Home Depot as anchor stores with many others.
Closest Park to Old Town
Nice enough park just outside the city limits. Free coffee at the store is a nice touch. Friendly staff. Clean restrooms and level RV spaces.
