Nice sites
This RV park is nice. All spaces are pull-thru with shrubs and trees in between them for privacy. The sites are full hookup and have fire pits, BBQ grills and picnic tables. While we were there, we couldn’t use the fire pits because it was too windy.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The store came in handy for useful supplies and ice cream for the kids. They also have archery, banana bikes, a pool, game room, board games for borrowing and one dollar DVD rentals. There is even a free shuttle to the Calico Ghost Town.
I enjoyed our two stays here and would recommend Barstow/ Calico KOA to others.
Rip off on amenities
Park was average. But we had minimal wifi at our site and no advertised cable hookup. When we complained to the desk she responded that it was my problem because I booked through KOA and not directly with her. Thus she wasn't responsible. She sure didn't offer to reduce my bill though.
Love This Park!
Quiet, clean, friendly & the little store on site is even rather well stocked. We stayed twice (once on the way to Yuma and again on the return trip). Happy both times. Bathrooms and laundry are immaculate. I would not recommend the Desert Am Pm Arco station close by. My credit card was $20 overcharged for fuel (sale was "settled" at the reserved amt instead of the actual sale amt). Peggy Sue's Diner very close by was really nice.
Great dog area and playground
Pull through sites were nice and had some shrubs dividing the spaces, giving some sort of privacy. Well maintained.
Had very good dog area. Very nice playground. Close to Ghost Town.
Overall we enjoyed our stay there very much.
4 stars because something was missing. But would definitely stay there again.
Nice park
Passing thru and needed a place over night. For once it was reasonably comfortable in Barstow in June. KOA was clean. Pool was nice. New bath house. Like allKOA's, about $10-15 too expensive, but made our night in Barstow a good one.
Nice but too much for my blood
We needed a place with wifi near Calico ghost town and we could not find a good deal on one, so we settled on the Barstow, Calico KOA in Daggett, California. Minutes from Calico Ghost Town. Less than an hour from Mojave National Preserve.
Nice lady waited on us. Lots of trees, bushes and shrubs which separate the sites. We paid $45 a night for full hook-ups, pull-through site.
Bathrooms were clean and some were heated if you turn the heater on. Water was hot. They give you coins to operate the showers.
Nice length of sites with picnic table and grill at each pull through. Sewer is like 15 feet behind the rest of the hook-ups. I never get that. Pool, playground and game room. Nice western themed playground.
Comfortable clean, meaning a family can feel fine playing here, yet not grossed out by anything. Plenty of bathrooms, laundry, dump station, full hook-ups, pull-throughs and free wifi. Camp store and restaurant.
Overall it was Nice park, which you can normally count on with KOAs.
This Stay...Makes 3 Times
The sites were wide and were private with the way the landscaping was created around them. The laundry facilities were one of the best we have seen on the road, there were many washer and dryers, even an extra big washer for rugs, which we needed to wash. They had clean individual showers, the restrooms in the main area were being remodeled and the pool was closed. The store carried many convenient supplies and souvenirs with a very helpful staff that also offered a free shuttle to Calico Ghost Town.
