Mancos State Park
Not a bad little park.
There is a lake (no wake)stocked with trout. There are two groups of sites. The group of sites closest to the entrance is better for trailers but we found them kind of jumbled together and not much privacy. Shared water spigots are available at this loop.
The other loop of sites is on the other side of the lake. These sites are better suited for tent campers and very small RVs. This is where we stayed. Most have decent privacy. No water is available at these sites. Pit toilets were clean. No electrical. There is a dump station near the entrance without water.
We never saw a camp host or ranger while staying here in mid-September. We did see an occasional maintenance person though. Only a few other sites were occupied the entire time we stayed here.
This campground is a nice base to explore the area. It is only about 4 miles or so to Mancos, CO and about 10 miles to Mesa Verde National Park. There are some trails to hike, walk, and jog on inside the park.
