Traveler Tips

Please be aware that the campground will be going through some improvements so that we can serve you better. From June 1, 2010 to December 31, 2012, the campground will not be accepting reservations while construction is taking place. One of our favorites!

We stay at this park often when we need to be in the Orlando area - it's just perfect. The sites are generally very spacious and private feeling, yet you're also close to town.

There's lots of hiking, swimming and canoeing to be done onsite.. and wildlife all around.

Wekiwa is currently undergoing renovations, and this time they were on a walk-in basis only (no reservations). If you arrive mid-week, you can pretty much snag a site and keep up to 14 days. Hooray, finally us last minute arrivals can get a spot over a weekend.

It looks like many sites are getting sewer installed - which will definitely make this park even more ideal for us RV travelers, but will probably change the vibe a bit for the tent campers.

On this visit, we were able to get a strong Verizon and AT&T LTE signal on our devices.

ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL STATE PARK!

This is another beautiful state park. Nice wooded sites with water and electricity. Convenient clean showers and bathrooms. Dumping available. Bring your bike to get to the springs. Springs was a bit overcrowded but it was Memorial Day weekend.

Get Away!

A lovely Florida State Park to get away to, while still staying close to town.

The campground is two loops, with most sites well shaded. There is decent space between each site and each site is generous in size, providing good privacy. The bathhouses are well maintained and modern, and centrally located.

Hiking trails come right up to the campground, and you can easily walk a mile to the swimming springs and canoe rentals.

At the campground, we received a strong 3G AT&T signal, but it was spotty throughout the rest of the park.
