Would be a 5 if not for the helicopter noise
We stayed for the week of our spring break. It?s a very nice campground with very clean bathrooms. The wall to the beach is a path and then a lovely boardwalk. Nice easy walk to the pristine beach. While all the other beaches were packed with people the beach for the campers was so nice and not a lot of people at all even over spring break. This would be a 5 star review if not for the helicopter noise which is none stop from 10-6 daily. It?s soooo loud so if you have auditory issues I would pass. Bevy of the helicopter noise the road traffic which is also pretty loud seemed non existent. Keep in mind it?s a state park so no other amenities and while it did have water and electric there was no sewer but of course a dump station. Great stay, close to everything.
Excellent Excellent Park
We were there for 2 1/2 weeks. Beautiful park, awesome beach, a wonderful people. That is all that needs to be said....can't wait to go back
Best Beachside RV park
I live just 1 hour away, but I always try to camp here as much as I can. Each campsite is completely isolated from sites on either side with yaupon bushes and beach pine trees. Each of the 2 loops have concrete paths that lead to the boardwalk that takes you to the beach. Along the boardwalk are signs in metal that tell you about the vegetation and wildlife that you can see along the way.
The only drawback is that there is no sewer at your campsite, but you can have a great fire at your site.
The restrooms/baths are kept immaculate by the hosts! Plenty of area to bicycle. There is a WalMart across the highway.
Spend all day on the beach and enjoy your evenings to boot!

Best of the best state parks
Beautiful well appointed camping areas. Very private. Great beach access. Up to date bathrooms. We have been to many campgrounds and many state park in Florida and elsewhere. This one takes the prize. I hesitate to share this information as we don't want it to be so popular that we can't get a camping spot. I can't imagine anyone not loving this park.
Beautiful, beautiful park
This state park is to the south of Hwy 98, so there is nothing but sand dunes between your campsite and the water. The sites are large and private. The drive thru sites are very long.
The bathhouse has very spacious showers, with the shower handle on the side wall so you can set it BEFORE you get into the shower. New washers and dryers in each loop. Boardwalk takes you out to the ocean. We couldn't hear the highway, but we could hear the ocean.
Be aware that the gate locks at sunset, so if you are arriving late you need to get the gate code.
Great Park
Wonderful park. All sites were clean, manicured, excellent. Restroom/shower facilities were very clean and new. Short walk to beach the is available to campground guests only. Lots to do in the area.
Florida State Park
This is one of the nicer parks we have visited large sites clean and flat JUST GREAT
