Camping Snowbirds

We have been motorhoming for years, but this is the first time spending over two months living in one. We found the North Coast Camp ground to be well maintained, clean and easy to get to. It is an interesting area with the marina available and the airport close by. The manager very helpful in answering our questions, giving suggestions if we asked.

Not for people who like to sleep

In 2014, the Ft. Lauderdale International Airport expanded their south runway to accomodate large commercial jets. Before that, it was strictly for small planes. When that runway is in use, the huge, commercial planes will be landing in 2-3 minute intervals for up to 5 days straight. You literally cannot sleep because they are 60-70' above your RV.
Website states there are laundry facilities & 24 hour security- neither of which are true. There is an unoccupied house on the property, but the owner does not live there. There is no staff @ the park, so if owner is out of town (which happens frequently), there is no one to address any problems that may occur. When we arrived, the power pedestal @ our spot was arcing & sparking. Owner knew we were coming (we had already turned on electricity w/ FPL & paid rent), but was drunk & on vacation in the Keys when we finally reached her. Thankfully our neighbor in the park was an electrician & was able to help.
Grass is rarely cut, tikis in front of the parking spots were bare & falling over. Owner kept saying she was going to "update", but in the 15 months we were there, we saw no improvements. Everyone pays a different price & owner wil start asking you to do random maintenance "favors" for her. We were paying customers, not employees. It was not appropriate for her to ask my husband to go retrieve a floating piling from the water in the marina, or to ask us to start moving other guests' RVs w/ our trucks.
You are not allowed to use mailboxes on the premesis. Owner directs you to have mail sent to the unoccupied dwelling & she distributes it at her leisure. She leaves town for literally weeks @ a time, so go rent a box at the UPS store. Can't get P.O. Box because she refuses to give you any proof of payment or any indication that you are renting from her. Does not understand boundaries & is engaged in shady practices.

Private, Well cared for, Easy access

We have stayed at this facility for many years. The owner, Angie Price, is charming and delightful. She doesn't tolerate any nuisance RV'ers, and is available to answer questions and solve problems. Although it is a basic facility, it is along the marina and provides lovely breezes 24/7. There is additional parking for trailers and additional vehicles. Many folks come back year after year because they know they are charged a reasonable fee for the area, and have access to the interstate and main thoroughfares in the Fort Lauderdale area. There are lovely restaurants and grocery shopping within 2 miles, as well as proximity to the airport for visitors. This RV park was not meant for children who need lots of play activities and equipment; however it fits nicely for those who are retired and want a safe place to serve as home base while in the Fort Lauderdale area. For the sportsman, Bass Pro is within a mile, and provides equipment for fishing from the marina there at the park.

Nice, small RV park

2/7/11 we stayed at north coast rv last year for the super bowl. The owners were very nice. They went out of there way to accommodate all our friends. The plains over head were no big deal. I would go back very nice small rv park.

Ok for stop over

Park is very clean, but...the planes fly over the park ( real close ) every 10 min all day. NO laundry. NO club house, and the husband/ wife owners are never around when you need something. Very bad area to walk in with pets. NO PULL THRU... NO POOL...
