Nice clean well kept.

This park is a mix of privately owned and rental sites. They have great all concrete big rig pull through sites. Fairly easy access to I75. Makes a great stop over to Key West

Private feeling. Public access.

We are a family of 3 (mom, dad, and 2-year old) who was looking for a family friendly RV atmosphere in the Ft. Myers / Ft. Myers Beach area. We wanted a place that had amenities for us as adults and our daughter as well. We also wanted something landscaped that made us feel a bit more at home than the boondocking spots in the Wal-Mart parking lot. We found all of those things at Woodsmoke.

We are at the end of our 4 month stay here and while it is probably not the most economical location you absolutely get what you pay for; a generous heated pool, ample laundry facilities, friendly clubhouse staff, kind neighbors, natural landscaping, room for kids and even pets, pedestrian-friendly streets and walkways, and great proximity to restaurants and shopping.

We have especially enjoyed the community building activities such as Wednesday morning breakfasts (great price at $3/person as well), Friday night dinners, shuffleboard at the Tiki Hut, and even a Super Bowl party! There always seems to be something going on to get you involved.

I am not sure what the condition of the bathhouses were prior to 2014 but we have found them to be just fine. The one closest to us (which doubles as the restroom facility for the pool) has a large, handicap-accessible shower and private stalls. The water was clear and the pressure was relaxing. The toilets were clean each time either my wife or I chose to use them and there was always toilet paper. The lightbulbs were bright and the hand dryers worked. We have bathroom amenities in our fifth wheel so we didn't use the restroom enough to get incredibly picky. I think it was beyond acceptable though.

As for the pool, I didn't find it to be a locals only sort of spot. We always had a choice of upright chairs or reclining chairs and on most days could get an umbrella quite easily. If you are looking for a private spot with no one around you can forget about that. But if you don't mind mingling with your neighbor and getting to know someone you can pull up a chair almost anywhere, anytime. We especially liked how many of our new friends acted as sorts of lifeguards interacting with our daughter when she was at the pool and even volunteering to swim with her.

Our site was plenty big giving us ample room for our 30' fifth wheel, a full patio and awning/screens, and room to park our vehicle. The grounds around our lot were well-maintained and the roads were well lit at night without being obnoxious.

All in all? Value is determined by you; the one paying the bill. For us? Woodsmoke was a value, an adventure, and a place we will return to.

I didn't give it 5-stars ONLY because I stepped in dog poo 3x during our stay and I sometimes felt like the dog and dog poop rules could have been more strictly enforced.
