The Longer We Stayed, the More We Liked It

After reservations at another RV Campground fell through, I managed to get a reservation for what I am convinced was the last available campsite on the Gulf, over the 4th of July 2014. PRVP is not directly on the beach (which we later discovered was a very good thing). It is in a high traffic area of Ft. Walton Beach, but was surprisingly quiet. It's a little older, with lots of long-term, permanent residents. Everyone we encountered was friendly, but respected our privacy. The bath house is amazing. Easily the nicest, secure bathroom and showers we have ever seen on out camping adventures. There is a great little bakery, right at the exit. There is also a breakfast/lunch restaurant in walking distance. We made use of the produce market (also within walking distance). PRVP is across the street from a Lowe's, WalMart, Sam's, and Winn-Dixie. This all proved very convenient to our activities over the long weekend. Ms. Jane (manager) and Mr. Pete (maintenance) were friendly and very helpful.

good park

My wife and I stayed in the park this past 4th of July weekend. After reading the reviews we debated, but stay anyhow. We found none of the reviews to be accurate. Yes it is an older park, no there are not a lot of amenities, but being centrally located there are a lot of options. We found the park clean, the rest rooms excellent. Yes there was one broke washer. The maintenance worker was there and on duty. in fact he lives on the grounds to handle all calls. To say the least I really don't see what the other reviewers were talking about, we will stay again. This coming Labor day weekend

Not Family Friendly

Families Beware - this is NOT a family/pet friendly place. Do not be fooled by the name. From Day 1, you will be harassed if you have kids and/or dogs, unless you keep them cooped up in your RV 24/7. You will receive nasty notes from the office accusing your kids/dogs of breaking rules without cause or proof and be threatening with being kicked out every other day. Several families packed up and left without notice, losing their deposits, because of treatment by the management staff. Absentee owner who does not care about customer satisfaction, but only profits. The staff continually approach you to tell you of annonymous complaints without basis. The kids have absolutely nothing to do here, no recreation, and are not allowed anywhere without adult supervision, not even the bathrooms, even if they are teens. Unrealistic and ridiculous. If you leave your dogs unattended outside your door on a tether, even for a moment, you will be given a complaint letter and confronted by animal control, being told that you received an "anonymous" complaint. RV park is situated on a very busy road and there is absolutely no recreation here. Bathrooms are dirty and bug infested. Laundry room has several machines broken down and run on such a short timer, they do not fully clean clothes. Several times, when taking clothes out of washer to put in dryer, they were sudsy. Maintenance runs loud equipment early in the morning, before anyone even wakes up. Bathrooms are cleaned at 7:30 in the a.m. when most people need to use them. Okay, who else finds this time ridiculous? Would post a NEGATIVE rating if I could. There are no redeeming qualities to this park.

dirty little park

rate negative 5 stars washers and dryers were filthy or not working, all sites were full of junk, looked like most lots were mini flea markets, most were cheap broken down fema trailers, all had broken down vehicles, barking dogs, 2-3 dogs per rv, one drunk womans german shepard had biten another womans (we assumed the local drunk, always loud and obnoxious when she was drinking which was always starting with vodka at 7am)grandchild, dog doo everywhere, no other daily or weekly campers all were living a fulltime existence here with broken down RVs, Most had mental issues or seemed to be indigents. worth maybe $7.00 nightly no more. nicer parks in area on island few miles away in navarre 15 miles away new one being built on pensacola beach this park was disgusting and the management and people living there were clueless and utterly disgusting, none had ever RVed they bought broken down RVs for dirt cheap to live in. this place was terrible, can you tell, pass it up spend your hard earned money wisely and you wont be disappointed.....

Awful

This park was old, run down, no maint. 99% of the people there are not RVers, but low income, unemployeed. Drugs, Hookers, are the norm. Sheriffs there nightly. Basically a low income homeless camp. No management, rumors of workers stealing money from the office go round the park. No one there had anything nice to say about one another. Heard gun shots nightly, bad area. Skip this park, keep going better parks in the area. Don't believe woodall's they lied.
