Review for Rain problems
I live close to the park. I am 64 and never known of the river rising that all RVs had to evacuate. I do believe that water rises and goes to the lowest point which would be to the South of the river not uphill. There are snakes but I have never seen a Gater.
It is a VERY QUIET AND PEACEFUL PARK. Great park located on the Yellow River. Camp sights are large. Has a boat launch and limited fishing from the banks.

This is an OK (but not great...) place to spend the winter if you are a snowbird, but I would not recommend it for summer tourists! It is far to close to the Yellow River, in a deep valley about 100' below the terrain to the north of it by I-10. In summer, the area often receives torrential downpours, and the river can rise quite rapidly. When that happens, all RV's are evacuated to the other RV Park 1.5 miles north, on the same road. Also, because of the humid and rainy summer conditions, the park is often muddy, and Gators & Poisonous snakes are far too frequent.
