Little touch of Heaven
Beautifully run RV Park!! Each site is spotless.... Right on the bay of the gulf. Has a small marina to park your boat if you bring one.. Nice pool and laundry...Both really clean.. We would stay here again!!!
Overrated
The location was nice, spot on the beach but there were no bathroom/restroom facilities. Friendly check-in guy, overall the price is far overrated.
Incredibly clean but not very friendly
The resort was nicely laid out with multiple colors of gravel to outline the designated spaces. The pool and grounds were also well kept and clean with one exception.
The day we were scheduled to arrive we received a call to tell us we could not pull into the waterfront site we reserved until the next day because we were arriving after 5pm. The park has a ridiculous rule about now allowing anyone to pull into waterfront site unless someone from the park is there to guide you.
The park had a designated dog run area but there is no enforcement of its use or any leash usage. Dogs wander around and do there business wherever.
The park does not have any shower/bathroom facilities which is not a terribly big deal but it would have been nice to have a rinse down shower for after using the pool.
I would also suggest not using site 4 as it is also the common walk through to the waterfront area and has nothing to designate or protect your site space. While there one park camper also has his boat there and every morning was walking through our site with cans of gasoline at first light.
Lastly our immediate neighbor made me aware no less than 30 times that the park is common occupied by the 55+ crowd. While there is nothing stating such it was quite annoying to have my children and wife made aware that we were not welcomed by this camper.
I would choose to stay at a different campground if our travels brought us back to the Marathon area.
Immaculate, Friendly, and First Class all the way.
Grassy Key RV Resort may well be the best resort in the Keys? It was immaculately clean and maintained. Sites are large and well spaced apart. Our water front site was 10 steps from the water with our own "beach" and new lounges to sit in and watch the sun set.
There is a little bit of landscaping hedging between sites (it could use some more, but with rigs so big these days, I am not sure it would provide much more privacy?).
The entire resort is gravel. Nicely done in different colors to indicate RV sites, driveways, beach front, etc. Some grass would be nice and soften the place up, but water is an issue in the keys.
The pool is delightful, spotlessly clean, with chairs, table, and umbrellas.
All sites have water, electric (50 and 30amp), sewer, CATV, and free WiFi. There is no "Bath House", and therefore no common showers or toilets. But most rigs today have those facilities in spades.
Our fellow guests (other RV'ers) were quality people, and we enjoyed their conversation and company, especially at sunset parties.
Everyone had a small dog or two (as did we), and a more convenient dog walk area would be am improvement.
Last, but not least, our Hosts (the resorts owners) were delightful, and made us feel welcome and appreciated. 5 stars (only because there are not 6 available).
Nice clean place to stay
Mostly rock/gravel lots but very clean and quiet. Nice dock area on gulf about 100 ft away from our site. Only complaint was the Dog Walk area was drainage ditch beside busy hwy. Must do better but at least there WAS one. Was there for 3 nights. No restaurants/groceries/etc within wailing distance. Must have car if staying here. Again, clean and quiet.
