Love this paradise
We stayed here the evening of December 15, 2016 and it was so beautiful scenic and amazing!!! we will definitely be back we cannot wait to visit historic Saint Augustine tomorrow. Staff was friendly and so helpful even through the very wooded and forest like scenery we were able to easily get ourselves to our site. There are two fantastic restaurants located at both the front and the back of the park. We particularly enjoyed the johnnycakes at Aunt Kates on the Bayou!
Natural setting
Pretty park,close to the beach
Great place to stay!
We stayed here in July 2014 and other than bad weather, we loved every part. We liked the sites on the river side because they seemed more spacious.
Resort is a misnomer
Campground is located across the street from the beach which was the big draw for us - a quick walk. Staff at check-in was pleasant enough although not overly helpful. Had to come back later to find out they had maps of St. Augustine attractions.
Sites are mostly shaded and offer privacy between sites with bushes which is nice. The sites are sandy too. The lanes between sites are narrow which made backing in challenging. The sites themselves are plenty wide. Be sure to tell them how big your rig is when making reservations because some are smaller than others. They also have pull-throughs. For the price I would have expected trash pickup, but no. We stayed a week and got the 7th day free. Better than GoodSam.
Cool Park
I really dug this campground for the way the sites are superprivate-- completely surrounded by thick foliage. Feels very beachy, with dirt roads and big sites, situated between the beach and the river. It's too bad it's so expensive ($66 with taxes for a pull-thru). A previous reviewer said it was "70s" but as far as I know that's kind of a bonus-- has that back-to-the-beach vibe. Waking distance to a few restaurants/bars. Nice park.
Nice location, but could use so,e work
The camp ground is in a very nice spot north of Saint Augustine with easy access to the beach but just needs some attention. The camp ground is unique as it looks like it was literally cut into an ocean side Forrest with all spots very private and shaded but it looks like it was built in the 70s and not updated much since then with several homesteaders with campers that look more trailer park and less camp resort. The WiFi only really worked at the clubhouse and not throughout the campground as advertised, the pool and playground are nice just a little dirty. All in all not bad if you want to stay close to the beach but you are paying for location not necessarily the "camp resort"
