Traveler Reviews
Small park but full service
This is a fairly small park and well maintained. The sites are paved and level. Staff is friendly and try to be helpful but don't have much information about local activities. No maps or brochures either. Do your homework ahead of time.
Location is great because you are close to several hiking trails, waterfalls (we saw four waterfalls in two days), horseback riding and zip lines as well as Lake Burton for fishing and boating.
If you want to "unplug" this park is for you. Wifi is available only at the office and sometimes iffy. There is no cable, could not get over-air HD, and the trees blocked the satellites. We could not get any cell service using Verizon but a short drive up the road got us back in service. Annoying that we had nothing at the campsite though.
Sugar Mill RV
We went to this campground to set up a base for fly fishing the Soque. The camp site is no frills, relatively clean. Many sites are permanent/ long term. Only place with a bar for miles around, though.
