See, we did return

Last review in June, I said we would return. Located one hour from our home base, it would still be a destination park. Camping area #1 was full. Camping area #2 had less than half of it's sites available. Keep in mind, depending on direction you enter, Long RV and Long RV travel trailers will have so tough negotiating up around the office. There is a large parking space between the camp office and the creek. Friends of the Park have renovated a large gathering with professional kitchen and catering equipment for office meetings and weddings. They are also trying to get a campfire program going as well. Will we return? We did before. We only hope the redneck family from hell does not come in again at 8:38 to set up with two tents, one set of poles, three vehicles, four yard apes, one baby, three women all about the same age, ( one expecting ) and one man who's only method of campfire building is to have the tribe collect pine straw in plastic shopping bags and set that on fire under some down dead he found. "Hey, Brent! Get me another bag of pine straw, the fire's going out! Then their male child follows my daughter's little girl into the bathroom. It was not as peaceful and quite as we had hoped. But we will return.

Indian Springs SP

June 28, 2013 for two nights. The old roads in the park are not made for long trailers. However, you can force passage as you swing into the left lane to avoid scraping the RV against the stone walls on the right. There is no designated RV parking at the Park Office. You might have to park off the shoulder before the office. There is a space after the office on the left for a long RV. Check in with reservation was quick and easy. Sites I would return to are #38, #42 and #43. They are about 30 something feet deep with parking for two vehicles. There is a fishing dock adjacent to site #43. There is a fishing dock at the dam. Good points are the history of Indian Springs. Location is about 30 minutes off Interstate 75. Jackson GA. with grocery stores is about 8 miles from the park. There is also a good catfish house at High Falls State Park about 8 miles away and is open to 9:00. Fresh Air BBQ is about 6 miles from the park. There is a couple of small shops just outside the park, with limited groceries, and fewer tackle selections. Bad points is the swimming beach and miniature golf are about 1 mile or less from the campgrounds. The only WiFi is at the office. No full hook ups. Bath houses are old and show their age, but they are clean. There are dish water drains around the campground. But black water will have to go to the dump station. We will return to the park in a few months.

Indian Springs State Park

RV warning. Do not take the lower entrance! There is a very steep grade at this entrance. Use the upper entrance to the park.

This is a nice spacious park with a natural spring running at the front of the park. It has a beach and swimming area at the lake and signs marking all areas. The park itself has nice wide roads and dumping station on the way out. Bath houses were clean and well maintained. Laundry facilities looked to be fairly new. Campground host and Park Rangers were friendly and informational on the area. We spent 3 days here and will go again.
