Poorly laid out park

This park was taken over by KOA. It is poorly laid out and cannot easily handle big rigs. The sites are not level and the roads around the park have very tight turns and have some significant slope. We were lucky to avoid damage to the rv when trying to leave the park. They have great potential given they are located ok the lake, but the new management must make some improvements.

Now a KOA (July 2016)

This "resort" is not to resort status standards. The camground requires that you unhitch your tow vehicle prior to entry because of the narrow roads. The site they put us into would not accomodate our 30 ft motorhome. It was too steep of an entry to the site and our back bumper dug into the dirt. After much debate, they moved us to a site across the way from the original site. After dragging our bumper along the cement for about 5 feet due to a steep entry, an employee commented about how lucky we were to get the shadiest site. We did not appreciate that since it was so difficult to enter the site. It was over 100 degrees when we checked in about 6 pm this day. The restroom facility we found had exposed electrical wires, and no mirrors. We were unable to find the shower facilities. The entry gate requires a code to enter. The employee who was guiding us to the site opened it for us, but we were never given the code. It wasn't an issue for us since we arrived about 6 pm and knew we were leaving early the next morning. If we had known Lake Oconee Village was so close, we might have had dinner out while the RV cooled off. Entry into park is deceptive of park quality.
