FDR state park
Sites are great and staff was very helpful
Peaceful and Perfect
Love that Georgia State Parks let you pick your own site upon arrival - this means you can choose what works for you! When we arrived we took a look at the lovely lake side camp loop, and while we liked the views it seemed a little too crowded on the weekend for us.
So we went over area 5, and found a super nice secluded feeling back-in site surrounded by trees. We had originally paid for 2-nights, and ended up extending for 10. The sites are well developed and spacious.
We loved the hiking trails throughout the park, and several of them come right up to the camping areas.
The town of Pine Mountain is just outside the park from the back entrance, and there's a few resources there for groceries and dining.
We got great Verizon LTE and a booster helped us get a decent AT&T 4G/ HSPA signal.
We'd definitely come back here! Make sure to get frequent camper card and start earning free nights!
Near Callaway Gardens
We have stayed here a few times and love all Ga SPs. It is picturesque and we enjoy the area attractions. The Fantasy of Lights at Christmas is awesome. Also The Lillie White House and Warm Springs are a must for history buffs like me. Nice golf courses in the area. My biggest complaint is no cable and almost no tv via antenna.
Near historic site
Stayed in new section. Site close to level w/elect & water.
