If you want to visit the place where Buddy Holly performed last, this is it. The state park has lots of trees, but they are around the edges. It is divided into 3 sections, which is nice because it makes it feel more cozy. But there is no place to add water to your RV. We did find a faucet but you couldn't hook a hose to it. And, of course, there were faucets in the restrooms. But it was a really negative for us not to have water.
The road is paved; the sites are grass. Most are relatively level or, at least, levelable. The park is right on Clear Lake and just at the edge of town. You can easily walk to the lake or town. The pull thru sites are very long, long enough to put a long Class A and a car. I would rate it higher if it had access to water.
