“Easy access off I-80 east from and west "

Most recent stay was 6/30/16 - I'm "late" in posting my review ~ We camp in a "Tear Drop” style RV only 15' long w/o toilet or shower ~ plus we like to eat outdoors using the picnic table and set up our dining canopy for sun and weather protection and thus rely on condition of campgrounds facilities and being nearby our site ~ so our critique is focused in that area.

It is a favorite overnight stop on I-80 W & E between OR and WI ~we’ve been here several times, BUT it’s an older campground in need of some TLC ~ especially gravel roadway @ entrance (office) that goes down the hill to the interior roads which are full of ruts ~ all they need is some new gravel. [the inner gravel roads are fine]

Then there's the restroom/showers; a trip to local Home Depot in Iowa City for some paint, updated fixtures, new shower mats for the floor, new shower curtains, add hooks and shelving in the sink/vanity area for your things, and add paper towels that most campers would use to "clean up" (wipe down) their sink area after their use, but w/o them there's no way to do it and that area gets messy (they do clean the restrooms) . . .but still; and we give them credit because the grounds keeper is on site keeping things around camp tidy

There is little air movement inside even though there is a large fan/blower at the one end; it's not effective making it "stuffy" inside.

So for all my suggested remarks my rating is a 3 . . . because it's all related to improving conveniences since the rest of the park is very functional. Yes it's true some sites are on a small hill making leveling inconvenient, but you can always ask to move; after all this IS a campground and not billed as a 5 star resort with cement pads and patio's . . .after all. There’s lots of grass and shady trees so campers with all amenities in their RV’s would love it here. We will be back again and again and would upgrade our rate to a 5 star if they made the simple improvements.

Labor Day Fun

Really nice RV park! Lots of family activities over the holiday weekend. Staff was very friendly! Sites a little tricky to set up in-rolling terrain. But all in all a good experience.

Nice Park

After reading other review I had to leave one. Water, Sewer, & Electric was 6' from camper hook-ups. Spot mostly level. We have a 31' Class C pulling a Jeep and it fit nicely into the spot they gave us. We called 3 hours ahead and arrived 1/2" hour after the office closed. We had no issues signing in or finding our spot.

Pretty little park, friendly staff BUT we were traveling in a big rig and we wouldn't return. Why? 1) There are only a few sites that have good access for satellite TV..lots of trees overhead 2)the wireless internet is apparently in the office as we couldn't get it,3) rolling terrain and unlevel sites making it impossible to level so that we couldn't even put our slide out and 4)the utilities - dump, water, electric - were way, way in back of the vehicle requiring extra hose and extension cord.

On the other hand, if you're a family with children and don't need TV or internet...it might suit your needs. I saw kids being taken around in a cart, they're building a swimming pool, there is catch and release fishing and a playground.
