BIG park but...
While this park is huge, it is also mainly a long-term stay park. Only 100 of its 340 spaces are available for short-termers. The long term units are very nicely kept so that isn't a downside, it's just that it's smaller for us travelers than it first appears to be.
There are 3 covered open air pavilions with picnic tables in the park and a huge hall which is mainly used by the long termers for activities. For campers who are there on Saturday night there is a Country Opry show that was a good quality the evening we were there. It is free to everyone camped and outsiders can come in for a fee.
The sites are reasonably spaced, gravel sites. Most of the interior roads are paved, but some are gravel. There is a huge play area with a set of very long sliding boards and other play equipment nestled into the side of a hill; you wouldn't know it was there unless you explored the park.
It is about 5 miles from the expressway, so it's not a good place for a quick on and off, but that also means it is very quiet. Coming from the west the signs are very clear. Not so from the ease. They assume everybody will be coming in from the west,I guess.
