Country camping--between 2 fields
Price reflects Passport and C2C. Follow GPS exactly to get to this campground. Very quiet rural setting. There is a large sign with a phone number to call for check in. Within a few minutes, the managing couple came to check us in. They were very anxious to make sure our stay was positive and want to help however they can. Sites are all grass. Sites are average to small—however our 5th wheel, truck and jeep easily fit on our site. Each site has a picnic table. There are quite a few more permanent campers toward the back of the campground. The Passport and Coast to Coast campers are in a row of sites just inside the campground. Our site backed up to a large corn field and across the road is a soybean field—it is a fun alternative view to most other campgrounds. Easily handle big rigs because of the open spaces. Sites are electric and water only. There is a dump station available. There are trees throughout campsites. Trees offer shade, but can make getting satellite a challenge. Interior roads have pot holes that cannot be avoided. Very good Verizon cell and data coverage. We were able to set up our coach to allow us to get DirecTV. We have stayed here before while visiting the Shipshewana area. It is a nice place to stay while we are in the area.
Convenient Park In The Middle of Amish Country
We stayed here for a week in our motorhome. They have excellent rates if you are a member of Escapees, Passport America, etc. Be sure to check the directions on their website as most GPS will not take you to the right place. I did find that the Passport America database is correct on the location.
Be sure your waste tanks are empty going in as there are no sewer hookups.
The entrance road is dusty so take your time. The WiFi is on again off again but when it is on, the speed is good.
Good location to visit Elkhart, IN for RV Museum, various RV manufacturers. Also close to Shipshewana for Amish goods.
Restricted...
...to members of Coast to Coast, Escapees, and Passport America members. This is essentially a private park with limited sites for non-members. All sites are on the grass, in the open (no shade) and provide electricity and water. There is a lot going on and visitors are welcome to join the activities. Drive-up accommodations only. No reservations. It's about 10 mi from Shipshewana.
