Great site Caboose Lake
We had a walk around our new site here at Caboose Lake named after the railway car on a freight train, used chiefly as the crew's quarters and usually attached to the rear of the train and here on this site we found 4 Caboose Railway cars and lots of US railway memorabilia. It's a lovely site well laid out with good space between pitches and excellent wifi. We stayed by the lake furthest from i65 road traffic noise wasn't to bad and we stayed 2 nights and found the staff to be lovely and helpful. Good security we felt really secure here and found the site to be peaceful. We used it as stop over for our trip to Chicago. Would stay again!
Drive By review
We just drove by this cute clean only seconds away from the highway campground. Nice fishing lake. Bright and cheery. I would definitely try this one! Even their website is welcoming.
HAPPY CAMPERS
FORGOT TO ENTER THE COST OF $42.00
Happy campers
Very close to I65. Our 42ft rig and car fit very nicely on their drive through site. Great water pressure and 59 amps. Very nice lawn, lake, and views are wonderful. Our 2 dogs loved their walks. This is one of the nicest camps we have visited.
NO SOUP FOR YOU!!!!
The lady running the show, she is Nice for like the first 3 sentences but as soon as she gets your $$$ then it’s NO SOUP FOR YOU! Unless you are into being bossed around and sent to your corner for a time out, you should go elsewhere. This place is just crazy..... The facilities are right off the freeway (loud noise) they charge for EVERYTHING, including the air you breathe and use of daylight ($15 just to use the RV dump???). Avoid this place at all costs, we pulled in and she started yelling at us the second we got out because she thought a blowing napkin in the parking lot was our trash, she also freaked out while I was backing into a slip thinking I was going to touch her precious dead grass. This was WAAAAY worse than just having a bad day, you can tell this place is run like a concentration camp. DON’T TALK OUT OF LINE of you will get it! BROW BEATING DELIGHTS served 24x7 here. I was afraid my kids might look at her and turn to stone. We couldn’t leave fast enough! DON’T GO HERE! This is NOT a vacation spot by any means
Two nights at Caboose Lake
We stayed at Caboose Lake in early May, 2010 on our way back to MI from being in Gulf Shores, AL for the winter. This is a site we have stayed in previously. It is one of a few that is open year round. It is reasonable nice with gravel roads and parking pads. Some upgrades and new sites have been added. Nice lake and many activities. Our site was along a row of sites next to Hwy 65 which runs right along this row and about 50 feet up a large bank. This made for a LOT of road noise and a bit of difficulty sleeping.
Easy Off from I65
The campsites surround a small lake (Caboose Lake). Very tidy. But also very close to I65. The highway runs along the western edge of the campground. Lots of highway noise. However, if that doesn't bother you, then you'll like the clean facilities.
