Just Keep Driving!

We were ready to get off the road. We had called a handful of other places that had decent reviews and were a little further off I-65 than we wanted to go for an overnight. Plus we wanted to stay hooked up with our Jeep, and other places could not accommodate that request. Then we discovered this place. It had no reviews, but we thought, "How bad could it be?" We called ahead, told them we were 64' long total and wanted to keep our tow connected. They said they had an 85' pull- thru. NOT EVEN CLOSE! When we arrive, the woman meets us (notice I didn't say "greets" us) and proceeds to tell us we may want to unhook our Jeep. WHAT??? Then she makes me walk in the pouring rain to check out the site. WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! She asks,"Oh so he's a new driver?" Me,"um no." Woman,"So this is a new rig?" Me,"We've had it a year. We have been RV'ing for 14 years. This isn't our first rodeo. We wanted to stay connected because we are leaving early in the morning." The roads were narrow and the turns into the sites were 90 degrees. Then she yelled at my husband because he didn't make his turn in the grass. I told her that we weigh over 40k pounds and it's wet and raining and we are not putting our wheels in her grass. The only good news is that it was $20. If you are a smaller RV, it is tolerable. However, it does not appear that they get very many travelers. Plus one of the residents greeted us and told my husband that the lady was cranky but they tolerate her. She doesn't act like she's smiled in years. Personally, I wish we had just found a Walmart and overnighted in their parking lot!
