Traveler Reviews
ok for one night
Minimal leveling required. Site had shade, but ours had no grass. Receptionist was rude - guess showing up at noon interrupted her day. We were able to easily visit Eisenhower site in the afternoon. Shower head was old and painful. It feels like this place could use some love. Pilot Travel Center at same exit.
Excellent
When I saw KOA Salina, I thought, Why?
But I have to admit, this is my favorite KOA so far. They have a great park on the prairie, lots of trees, a wizard of oz theme. Very clean, we'll run park.
Great town!! Read all of the review
This is the first campground we have ever stayed at. We stayed in a cabin & they seemed brand new. We loved this place so much that we bought a camper!! The campground was large & shaded. The staff is friendly. There is a lot to do at the campsite, but the best part was the local attractions. Rolling Hills Zoo is one of the best zoos we have ever visited!!! (And we have visited a lot of the zoos around the country) The city also has a huge water park. It has slides, a lazy river, wave pool & much much more. It was only $27 for 4 adults & 3 kids to get into the waterpark. The price of 3 days in 2 cabins, the zoo & waterpark was less than it would have cost for one day at Great Wolf Lodge & we had a much better time!! The town also has a wonderful farmers market & many local organic options for food, as well as all your chain restaurants & shops. Originally it was just a stop along the way & now it's a yearly tradition.
WOW
Please do not stay here, unfriendly, dirty and a whole list of things WRONG!
Salina KOA
Great staff, nice park clean and modern restrooms. This will go on my favorites list
Salina, KS
I stayed here for an overnight stop while traveling cross country. I thought it was a very nice and well maintained campground. Bath house and laundry were exceptionally clean and very modern. Sites were level, had full hook-ups, with cable TV and wifi. Sites were a little close together but this place worked well for an overnight stop. I would stay here again.
Next to a noisy Interstate
This maybe a nice KOA, but we are here in mid-November, called ahead to reserve, since we were arriving late, and they assigned us the spot nearest the Interstate with the weakest WIFI signal. There is some poor guy next to us even though there are plenty of empty spaces in much quieter areas and the park is at best 1/4 full. This speaks volumes as to how much they care about their customers. If you stay here, demand a spot away from the droning traffic.
