Quiet and scenic
This park is super quiet except for the occasional boat traffic on the adjacent river, but even that is normally during daylight hours. We stayed in the river loop and those sites are pretty level with decent space between. Grills and picnic tables at each site. The loop road is a bit narrow, making it more difficult than most parks to access your site given that all sites are back-in and not pull-thru. Even so there are numerous Class A RV's that are parked here. There is asphalt thru the entire park on both the loop roads and RV sites.
Wifi works fairly well here. All of the major television networks are available with the over-the-air rooftop antenna. Satellite television is widely used here but there are some sites that may not offer clear sight lines due to trees. There is no sewer at the RV sites but there are two dump stations, one in each loop. The bathhouse and shower are excellent alternatives if you're spending several days here. The park and especially the river are beautiful and well maintained. There is a short nature trail in the river loop and a pretty nice playground for kids in the original loop nearest the access road. For additional hiking take the short drive to Fontainbleu State Park. There is also a nice sandy beach there on the north shore of the lake. But to me this campground is nicer.
We stayed here in a travel trailer and would return.
Nice quiet park...
We stayed in the loop just as you enter the park and those spots are very tight and challenging to get in and out of. Nice boardwalk for fishing on the Tchefuncte River if you do not have a boat. Boat launch on site. Nice playground with new play equipment for children. Sites are close together in the 1st loop, which appears to be the original loop. The 2nd loop is closer to the river but less shade. All roads are paved and spots are paved w/picnic table, fire ring and bbq pit.
