Close to it all.
This is a very nice park. It's close to everything in the French quarter. At the end of the street is a tourist information center. The people at the park offered to drive us down there in their golf cart. Some walked to Bourbon St, I wouldn't suggest it. There are sites with gazebos on them. It wasn't an advertised amenity, so ask if you're interested.
Fantastic
Was going to stay one day and ended up staying 6! We found this site to be so convenient with being so close to the French Quarter. The bathrooms very very clean and nice. Security was reassuring being so close to the Quarter with the site having a wall around the grounds and gates that automatically closed at nights. We stayed all over the U.S in many RV sites and this was miles ahead of the rest in everyway!! Would definitely stay there again!
Location. Location. Location.
Location. Location. Location. It's what this park has. Easy walking distance to the French Quarter.
The park itself is newer, well maintained and the staff friendly. The Wi-Fi worked great the entire time we were there. The courtyard is very pretty and relaxing - providing fitness room, pool, hot tub, laundry and private bath suites. The spots all provided ample room, we didn't feel crowded at all.
We were warned to take a taxi at night to get back to the park, but we felt extremely safe walking around the area after walking 15 miles all over New Orleans. There's graffiti on the building next door that says 'TV Off. Brain On.' We found that clever, not scary! The neighborhood kids we met were all charming.
The downsides include:
- Pricey. You *pay* for this location. This was a splurge for us (we're full-timers), and felt it was worth it tho considering the other options.
- They lock the courtyard from midnight-6a. Which is annoying if you want to use the bathroom or take a shower after a late night on the town. I guess they presume everyone has ample bath space in their rigs, as they generally cater to luxury class rigs (which is not us).
- It could use some landscaping - while clean, it feels a bit barren.
- Right next to the interstate. We stayed midway in the park - it wasn't too bad. They seem to place older rigs at the back of the park under the interstate, keeping the shinier ones up front.
All and all tho, if you want to be near the FQ, this is the place to be.
