Awful!
I am disgusted with the way we were treated at this site. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by the "manager" who was very rude. We had, 3 dogs, 8 children & 8 adults with us. She saw the breeds of pets we had from the very first night camping at their facility. At dinner, the following evening, the "manager" showed up screaming at the people at the lot next to us because of their breed of dog. At this point, only one adult and 2 dogs were at our site, because we were at the Warren Dunes. She then told him he and the dogs had to leave as well. She called the police and stated there were "15 people fighting" on our lot. The rest of us showed up after the police were there. It was almost dark, the kids and us hadn't eaten dinner yet, and ALL of us traveled over 2 hours just to camp there. When we asked for our refund back she said NO. When we asked why, she stated they don't allow that breed of dog and if we don't leave, she will call the police again. The pool was closed as well and when I read an older review about this facility, a family got E Coli from their pool! We had a cultural diverse group. There may have been some racial profiling involved.
What a disappointment...
This establishment is NOT pet friendly and the staff is extremely rude. We arrived and were shown our site and advised that our dogs needed to be leashed and we had to pick up after them which wasn’t a problem. The next day we were greeted by MI state police (4 squad cars) and advised that we had to leave and our dogs aren’t welcome. We had 8 children with us and it was approaching dark we were tossed out like trash left “homeless” and then when we asked for our money back they advised us to leave or the police would return. These people are criminals and we are also filing a complaint with the better business bureau.
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!
This was by far the worst camping experience of my life. The management had the nerve to come and complain to us about the fact that we had two cars parked on one site. Mind you, we had three rented sites all in a row and the space difference from where the car "should" have been parked was about 10 feet. We were then harassed by management for not moving the vehicles and verbally threatened by the workers who stated they would beat us up (other choice words were used, but I will not go into detail). Also, upon making the reservation it was made clear that we did not want water or electric (we were in tents). Upon arrival we were told we need to take the water and electric sites ($15 more) for no apparent reason (there were numerous other spaces available). Management and facility are very lacking in what I believe to be good customer service. All amenities were run down, pool was dirty, showers did not work. We left the facility, glad to pay more for a hotel. This facility is NOT worth your time or money, they reflect poorly on the community that is just trying to earn an honest wage. Please, please, please do not stay here; there are numerous other facilities worthy.
