A little gem in the rough.

The campground is tucked away in Land Of Memories park, just off US Hwy 169 at the confluence of the Minnesota and Blue Earth Rivers. This year, the city added a new, RV-friendlier section with wide, paved pads and 50 amp hook ups.

Staff is friendly and very helpful. Leashed pets welcome, no wifi or cable TV (can get some local stations off-air).

Amenities: Only a handful of water spigots around the park. (If you need to hook up a hose to fill your fresh water tank, the staff recommends using a Y-splitter so others can still get water if they need to.) Secured, clean bathrooms and showers are available for camper use. Picnic shelter and playground in campground area. A hiking trail follows the river, and a public access boat ramp is available for those interested in boating or fishing. Frisbee golf, soccer and softball fields on park grounds.

Dump station: None on site this year (temporarily closed, they are relocating it to the new (RV) section) but the city has a public/free dump station located about 3 miles north on Hwy 169, and there is a privately-owned/pay-to-dump station at an RV dealer about 2 miles south on Hwy 169.

Rates: sites without electricity $14 per day; sites with 20 amp electricity $17 per day; RV sites with 30 amps $20 per day; RV sites with 50 amps $25 per day. (Note that rates are based on power available at your site, not what you actually hook up to.)

Firewood: $4/large bundle, delivered and stacked at your site. (Please help keep the Emerald Ash Borer in check by not transporting firewood!)
