Nice campground for a family with kids
We spent 1-1/2 weeks here and would stay again if in the area. Very nice people who run this park as well as friendly campers. Fills up on the weekends but still not as noisy as you?d think because we were in a pull-thru a little ways from the pool & playground but still easy walking distance. The showers/restrooms were old but adequate & spotless when I used them once. Yes, there are portapotties throughout for the convenience of the tent campers but there are also regular restrooms if you don?t have full hookups. Big game room (which I just peaked in). Small but clean & reasonably priced laundry area. Be warned that the campground is on a dusty gravel road even though it?s only 1-1/2 miles from Interstate 70.
Overnight in a Winter Wonderland
We stayed here one night only on our way south from Indiana in December. I cannot tell you too much about the park, as it was covered in snow. The park did look fairly basic, with Port-A-Potties here and there and not actual restrooms. The park had been under new ownership for a fairly short time when we stayed there, so perhaps things are changing. The owner was friendly and escorted us to our site. We slept well and were greeted with a beautiful sunrise the following morning. There are two entrance roads into the park, one basically flat and one with a fairly steep downhill and then uphill. This looked rather intimidating with snow and ice on it; however, our truck (in 4-wheel drive, mind you) had no problem pulling our 38' fifth wheel up the hill. Access from the interstate highway was easy. We were grateful to have a place to land for the night!
