KCI runway approach right over head

This park is out in the country. Seemed really nice until we noticed low flying planes overhead every two or three minutes 24 hours a day. Higher priced park. Lousy cable reception. Wifi ok. Very busy park with construction crews camping long term.

Nice get away

Park is not far from KC. We stayed to regroup before the next leg of our journey. Site wasn't as level as I would have liked, but it worked.

Great park for kids, dogs & enjoying the countryside!

What a nifty facility! Stocked ponds for fishing, easy-access RV sites, and a range of other accommodations in addition to the RV sites, from simple cabins & private tent sites to the Basswood Lodge which sleeps a ton of folks. Would be a neat spot for a families or friends meet-up, with so many lodging options. Also has a nice campground store with a helpful selection of RV & camping supplies, snacks, souvenirs & even beer & liquor. Helpful staff, and attractive landscaping.

The layout is hilly, but at 45' + a large towed vehicle we had no trouble with the main driveway, internal access roads or getting in & out of our pull-thru site. There are access roads & additional hiking trails all around the property, which make for great exercise & dog walking options. It is a bit off the beaten path, but the roads to Basswood have very little traffic, and are straightforward to navigate, even with a big bus like the Mother Ship.

Plus this is a very pretty part of MO / KS, so driving through the surrounding area to visit local spots or head back in to KC is quite pleasant. We stayed 5/9-12/2015, and would definitely stay again. Lots of events happen in the area, so I'd recommend booking spots here well in advance. Holiday rates may apply if your stay is during a large local event (we were there on NASCAR weekend).
