Rustic wooded with lakeside sites

A 60 year old campground with bad gravel roads and in need of tender loving care but soo built into the woods and with lakeside sites it makes up for all evils. The lake is a nice size for canoes with waterfalls an easy paddle or drive away. Be prepared for rain since its in a temperate rainforest. Also Dupont State forest is just down the road with all the hiking. mountain biking you could want plus MORE waterfalls and some of the most mature forest left in eastern US. We lived in the region for over 15 years and never knew about it until we passed thru years later. Don't do what we did.

Great Campground on Huge Lake

Campground is set well into the countryside away from it all. Beautifully maintained campground and heavily forested offering lots of shade. Easy to navigate gravel dirt roads meander throughout the park with sites on various elevations. Campground has two lakes and rents canoes. Many friendly workcampers around to assist and provide gate security. The park has extremely poor cell phone reception if any, no internet service unless you sit at the campground store's front porch. This campground is a Passport America member campground. We camped here for 2 weeks on the boating/fishing lake.
