Best park in the area. Concrete pads and hard surface roads.indoor pool, outdoor pool, hot tub. The nicest staff you would want to meet. Easy access to beach. Nothing missing?
Cape Hatteras
We stayed here for three days while exploring the Outer Banks. Its a great location, midway down the Outer Banks away from all the development. There's not much in Rodanthe.
The campground is large and has an ocean side and bay side camping areas. We stayed on the ocean side in a non premium site. The beach is just steps away. All sites have full hookups. The sites are level.
It was very windy while we were there and salt spray covered everything. There's no shade either.
Bath houses are basic but clean.
Breezy!
Nice sites. Friendly staff. Wi-Fi marginal. Cable tv is additional charge?
Great Beach!
This park is a little pricey but has great access to a very nice beach. We stayed in an ocean front site but because it was a "back in" space we didn't get the ocean view we wanted from inside but the views from our campsite were fantastic. The camp sites are level concrete pads with sandy/grass yards and lots of space between sites. The hookups were good with good water pressure. The park has a very nice pavilion and deck with steps down to the beach. There are clean bath houses located throughout the park with one located near the beach. The roads within the park are solid surface and very easy to navigate. The staff were not overly friendly but not rude either. The pool and hot tub were clean but crowded and the no children in the hot tub rule was not enforced. They also charged $6 per day per pet. I loved the beach and the easy access but found the park overall to be adequate.
Right on the ocean
Just cross the dunes and you are on the ocean. There are 2 campgrounds, one on the ocean side and one on the sound. The sound side has good water access and, we are told, much nicer facilities. We stayed on the ocean side and everything was pretty much closed up. Water was pretty bad so we used bottled water. Concrete pads, no trees, close to each other.
The check-in people were pretty snippy and not very helpful on information about things to do in the area. It was pretty expensive.
