Don't use the gps on your I pad took us to a dead end street in a older neighborhood not even close to the park not fun never got to the park
location, location
Best thing was where it was. Not much of a campground. Gravel parking lot with power and water. Showers clean, very expensive though. A bit tricky getting here, don't take a wrong turn with a motorhome. Very pretty marina close to campground. Took ferry across to the city everyday, easy to do!
Liberty Park Harbor and Marina
I would give this park five stars for convenience to the 9/11 memorial and museum. The voltage is questionable, there is no sewer, public showers and bathrooms were filthy, the RVs were packed in tight. It was about a five block walk to the subway station and the memorial and museum were just two stops away. On holidays and other special days the price is $100 per night - otherwise, it was $85 per night.
it is what it is
I stayed here for a few weeks while I had business in New York. On the plus side, it feels very safe and has good access to the PATH train to Manhattan (as well as the ferry to Wall Street). Negatives are that it's just a parking lot (no charm at all, though the marina next door is a nice touch), and the wifi is next to useless. Also, there is no sewer hookup so you have to use the honeywagon ($20) if you're going to be around for longer than a few days. But the location is good, so if you need to be in the city with an RV this is where you're going to go, and in the end RVers are lucky this is here (I just wish they would make it prettier but I guess the logic is that beggars can't be choosers).
I used the park showers and they were fine-- a bit mildewy on the ceiling but other than that acceptable.
Location location location
A 5 just for location & convenience to PATH system into New York. You are parking in a parking lot with hook ups. We felt very safe. From the lot you have views of the Statue of Liberty, Manhattan etc.
Great Place! Great Staff! Great Info!
This is my first time visiting NYC with my family and let me tell you I didn't expect to come to a great little gem like this after reading some negative reviews in the past. From what I hear since the new Management came along, this place has made a complete 360 degree turn from the past 14 years in business. I would recommend this place to anybody looking to have a great time in NYC. They have a well-informed and professional staff that can tell you how to get pretty much anywhere in NYC! Loved my stay.
WOW!
10 min. walk to the subway right into Manhattan. View of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty, clean restrooms and laundry. Other than that, it's a parking lot. But WHO CARES - you're in NYC!!!!! We were just there to sleep! and for $58 per night for a family of 5, you really can't beat that. We are definitely staying here over and over and over again. Love love love it!
