Traveler Tips
Traveler Reviews
Good Location
This park is close to the downtown Deadwood and they offer shuttle service to the restaurants/casinos. I agree with the other reviewers, it was hard to drive in to the park because the spots are on different levels. The sites are small and have just a picnic table. But the park is clean and well-run.
Small and tricky
This park has all the amenities of a KOA but it is very steep and tricky to get into. There are large sites down that the bottom of the park that are easier to get into but I have a 19 foot toy hauler and they put me at the top and hthe site was tight.
I also thought it ws close to Mount Rushmore, Wind Cave, and other sites but it is about 1 hour away from each of these.
A good spot that is close to Deadwood though and the town is neat.
Tiered Camping
This campsite is located about a mile out of Deadwood on the way to Lead. The campground is on a steep hill side but very accessable by RV. The sites are level with the next row of campers either above your head or below your feet. The campground offers a free shuttle to Deadwood which runs hourly, a great way to get in a see the town.
