Overpriced. Could be so much better. Rude. Rude hotel lodge
Rude hotel lodge staff, and general store staff as well. Manager only manages to show up to work and collect a pay check. No evidence of any other "managing" of the lodge or park or staff. Restaurant overpriced, and turned us away 30 minutes prior to closing, because posted hours had "just changed" and not been re-posted, yet guests were still seated and dining.
The only good thing about coasttonowhere are the security and koa workers, (not to be confused with the lazy coastanoa staff- who think they are "better than" the koa "trailer" people, (who own $100k 5th wheels, and $80k trucks to pull them, or $250k class A motor coaches) but are apparently not "good enough" to stay in the tent camping or "glamping" area, as they call it, or in the overpriced lodge with no bathrooms.
The koa workers, who keep rowdy guests quiet, and are ready to help, and the view, are the only good things about the park with SO much potential.
Only of there isnothing else
For one night you pay the highest price en Gatting the worst place near the tent. They using the restrooms a lot and children are playing there. Not clean, out of date. The price is much too high.
Very Nice
Large, Many. Familys (weekend).
Good WiFi, much overpriced.
Upper, Middle, Lower Class sites
We stayed at this resort for three nights & enjoyed things overall. However, once we arrived we quickly realized there was clearly an upper class area & middle class area (both with nicer restrooms & showers), & a lower class area (lesser restrooms/showers). The upper class area had a more manicured look/feel & the lower class (where we were) was dirt & weeds - plus the lower class was right next to the horse stables, so there were some fairly unpleasant odors wafting through our site. However, there were lots of wildlife (quail, gophers, etc.) & a path down to the highway. Unfortunately, getting to the beach was not an easy walk. We chose to just hop in the truck & drive down the highway a bit to find a more accessible area (that also had restrooms in the parking lot). Half an hour to Santa Cruz - half an hour to Half Moon Bay - and Pigeon Point Lighthouse just a few miles away made for some fun day trips though. The lighthouse at sunset is gorgeous.
