Traveler Reviews
Awful
Sites are not level, neighbors are extremely close and fight very loudly day and night. We didn't even get a picnic table at our site.. They also burn piles of leaves right in the road which creates a lot of unpleasant smoke (not to mention weird and dangerous). There's almost nothing to do in the area, no trails to walk, very limited restaurants, grocery stores, etc. The owners/management are horrendously rude. Spend your money elsewhere.
Peaceful Pines
Stayed here 2 nights; does not seem to be many choices for RV parks in this interesting historical area. Trailer Life reviewer must have had a sense of humor when s/he gave this park an 8.5 rating. My RV pad are gravel, grass, & dirt, which was messy after it rained. Has small pond, ducks, lots of dogs, mostly long-term residents who seemed very friendly. Owner/manager lives on site and was friendly and helpful. Does have 30/50 amps, no cable and trees block roof-top satellite antennae. Adequate place for few day stop-over, but not a 5-star resort.
Unpleasant Experience
This park is in the middle of the woods as you would expect with a primative camping. It doesn't have a store or restaurant for miles. Once it gets dark, it is pitch dark. No reflectors, no lights, no security. Yelling, traffic noise, and music can be heard into the late hours of the night and early hours of the morning. Children and ducks run into your "space". We had to sleep with our tv on loud to attempt to drown out the noise. Big rvs would be hard to get in and out of this small, cramped area. Permanent residents have the run of the park. They have numerous "visitors" at all hours. Did not feel safe in this location.
