Check the weather forecast before booking with this campground

This place appeared to be a somewhat new facility (w/in the last few years), new restroom/showerhouse had been built. Other small construction items were notable as well. So that's a positive.

The entrance to the park is a very steep decline that directs you straight at the Hocking River. Anyone with a good size trailer or motorhome needs to exercise extreme caution when entering/exiting the park. Also, that particular part of the driveway had streams of running water eroding it in a heavy rain. Leaving isn't as bad, but you still cannot just roll right out of this place.

Understanding that the RV park management cannot control the weather, they've gotta lotta work to do with regard to their land management. Specificially, all the sites are located at the bottom of a hill (SR 180 is the main road above the campground) which allows rain water to flow down into the park & several sites. It rained very hard on one day we were camping at this facility & about 4-6 campsites, including ours, was at least ankle deep in water. We ended up having to move our motorhome to ensure we did not sink or get stuck in the mud. Another family of campers moved to another "drier" campsite altogether. The sites didn't appear to dry out all that well once the rain had left the area, either.

Facility has two fresh water hook-ups in order to fill your H2O tank, one dump station. These stations are located on what I would consider not the most even terrain near the bottom of the aforementioned hills. I was able to adequately utilize the dump station. However, I didn't have a very comfortable feeling running my 30+ foot motorhome up to it.

For $40/nite, certainly not worth the cost. Adequate attention needs to be addressed with regard to the above items as they could potentially be safety issues.

R V Park

We had a family reunion and stayed Labor Day 2012 weekend at this campground. It was a last minute kind of trip and we were searching to find some place that had availability. I was told that this was a Christian run place as it has affiliation with the Nazarene church. There are less than 30 sites all in one row. The grass had not been cut in a VERY long time and was easily a foot tall in places. The shower house was ok but there are no amenities whatsoever including no water at each site. I asked for three sites a few days before our arrival. Unfortunately due to a last minute change one of the families could not stay and bring the camper that I had thought would be coming. I received an email confirming my arrival. It stated that there would be no changes unless they were made two weeks prior to the stay which was known to me AFTER I arrived. It is very hard to make a change two weeks prior when you made the reservation just 4 days prior. The employee did not verbally tell me this at all. I called the campground when I got home hoping that since this was again....a Christian organization that they would be willing to make the change..but that was not the case.
