Noisy train tracks
It's a nice little RV park, with gravel access roads and asphalt paved sites. Full hook-ups throughout, the wifi signal works well. There is no cable tv connection, and no channels available over the air via the roof-top antenna. Satellite will work well at any of the pull-thru sites, but not as many of the back-in sites.
It's convenient to the highway but there is almost no highway noise. The biggest issue is the noise from the passing trains. This area must be alongside a major train thoroughfare; this is mentioned in some other reviews and during the less than 24 hours we spent here there was just about an average of one train every hour around the clock. The stockyards are also right behind the RV park and the cattle make a little noise even thru the night, but it doesn't compare to the train noise.
This is an ok spot for a one night stopover, because there are very few RV spots along this section of the highway for quite a few miles. We spent one night here but would not stay here again, not thru any fault of the park itself but just the outside noise. Even earplugs will not seal it out completely, so if you are a light sleeper you've been warned!
Messy, Connectyions out, and drunks at the Bar
I stayed there to find the train noise unbearable. Found sewer connections not working, and dump site out. The grounds has a bar on site and the drinking customers roam the parking areas.
When the manager was approached, no action was taken on any of these items. I will not ever stay here again. Please be careful here.
Park is greatly improved
New owners have made a lot of improvements. Looks a lot cleaner and friendlier than in passed. All under desirables have been removed from park. Park has some long term campers than don't look great but people are OK people. Will stay here next trip to Mcalester Great job you have done Doug
