Loved it

This was our first time staying at this particular state park and we absolutely loved it. We only stayed one night as we were heading south on the coast highway, so we didn't have a lot of time for hiking. We did visit the beach, lighthouse and what we could of the town of Bandon....Loved it, loved it, love it. We stayed in Loop B in a 30 foot fifth wheel and the sight was roomy and fairly private.

Bustling Campground

If you're looking for a quiet and peaceful state park experience, you might want to pass on this park. It's a very busy and popular park, and the sites are a bit close together. With the abundant boating nearby, a lot of campers bring their large RV, their tow/toad and a boat - and in already small sites - the loops can feel pretty packed in. When booking a site, make sure it can fit both your RV and any other vehicles - as the sites are pretty short. We had trouble squeezing our 35' motorhome and Mini Cooper into our site designated for 37' RVs.

A & B loops are definitely larger sites, with more separation between them with vegetation. C loop, where we got assigned, are more open and on top of each other. It was definitely a step above the commercial RV Park options in Bandon, but not the serene state park feel we enjoy.

We stayed in early October, and their websites said most sites were first come first serve. Upon arrival, the line was several RVs deep to check in - and very limited options even at 1pm.

The surrounding area is lovely - there's a trail down to the beach (about 1.5 miles away) and Coquille River Lighthouse is on site as well. It's not an active light, but tours are given every day from 11a - 5p by volunteers.

We did have great Verizon and AT&T 4G reception, and the town of Bandon is just a couple miles away.

Awesome place!

Wonderful place. Feels private with all the beautiful trees. Can burn a fire at your campsite
and has bathroom which are extremely clean. Everyone is very nice and friendly. No pull throughs though so keep in mind if you are hauling a big trailer.
