Great Ocean Views
We love Harris Beach. Close to town & great beaches. Showers and restrooms are clean and modern. Most sites have reasonable privacy and grassy areas. stunning views from some sites. Easy beach access.
Too Much Smoke
It seems to be a rule that all campers have a campfire, and in this campground the smoke just hangs in. It's a wonderful campground in an exceptional location, but too much smoke spoiled our experience.
Harris Beach State Park, Brookings, OR
What a beautiful and well maintained park. The sites were large and relatively flat. Interior roads are paved. Some sites can be a bit tricky to get into with a big rig. The views of the beach are fabulous and it is an easy walk to the beach. There is a path/bikeway to the nearby town. The restrooms were clean and well kept. This park even has a laundry facility that was clean and in good working order. The campground sells firewood and an enterprising entrepreneur comes by to sell ice and ice cream. A great place to stay and I would definitely return again! We camped here in a 5th wheel
harris beach state park
Beautiful coastal park with a handful of sites offering ocean views. Sites are spacious and private, with trees and shrubbery separating your from your neighbor. In the off-season, these are first come first-serve, but during high season, you can make reservations. No sewer hookup on the oceanview sites. If any of the water-view sites happen to be available, here's my notes on each site:
A10: No view at all. Lots of shrubs and trees
A12: Too many trees block the view
A18: The BEST view of the ocean rocks/cliffs to the south (pictured here)
A20: Some trees in the way, but okay
A21: Lots of trees
A22: Lots of trees
A23: Lots of trees
A24: Some trees, but okay
A25: No trees, nice open view, but not many seastacks in view and parking lot in foreground
C1: "Window" view created by surrounding dense trees, facing northerly
