Hilly and noisy

Previous reviews have covered the hilly conditions and interstate noise but that is almost to be expected given the nearby countryside. If visiting the Pittsburgh area there aren't many alternatives closer to the city than this one but they might be worth checking into. While the area and RV park are hilly the access road is not impossible and any size RV can safely navigate the roads. Do not follow the guidance instructions from your GPS; instead use the access route provided on the RV park's website.

There will be some leveling needed on most every site. Yes the sites are close together but that's to be expected from KOA when visiting. There is no cable hookup here; rooftop antenna channels were available but often the signal would drop off because of the distance from the city and the surrounding hillsides. Satellite reception was great here and would work well at most site especially nearest the park office. Wifi worked well but seemed to drop quite often requiring a fresh login.

We spent 5 nights here while visiting the Pittsburgh area and would stay again, but would also look into alternative RV parks that may be a bit further while having a more level RVing experience and campsites.

Bad roads to get there

The roads from the interstate to this campground are very bad (hope a car doesn?t come the other direction) and the very narrow road to the campsite is even worse. The campsites are uneven gravel.
Very nice owners and staff but the campground needs a lot of work.

Maybe the best in the area

This KOA is located near the intersection of two interstates. Although it is a far distance away, one of them can be heard clearly.
The sites are located on a hilly area, typical of western PA. The sites are level with gravel.
The restrooms are old and marginal, but clean.
Because they cannot get DSL or cable, the WIFI is very slow via satellite.
The people are very nice and they are open year around.
If we were to travel this way again, we would search for alternatives, but this is acceptable.

Don'do

I called and asked for handy cap parking. No problem said the lady. She forgot to mention closest to bath is 500ft down steep hill. Never mentioned gravel uneven campsites and cow path to get to them. Worst camping ground we have EVER stayed in and we have been in a lot of them. She did give us a discount from $47.00

Very nice staff

This park has very nice facilities. The bathrooms were very clean, there is a nice pet area and the staff was exceptional. There is a very nice pool area. The gravel sites were on a hill, which is to be expected in this area and very close together. We couldn't move our picnic table close to the front of our rig as there was not a level spot to put it.
