Additional Pet Information:

Pets are required to be on a leash (with you at the other end) at all times, or inside the camper. They cannot be left tied up outside of the camper unattended. The only exception to them being outside of the camper un-leashed is when they are in the dog run (with you). You are required to ‘pick up’ after your pet immediately upon them finishing ‘their business’ (this means in the dog run as well). Pets are not to disturb other guests.

Be careful making reservations

Be careful making reservations. Website states $30-$40 nonrefundable deposit. We made a 7 day reservation. Had to leave after staying one night. Reservation agent assured us about working WiFi at every campsite with many extra WiFi towers throughout the park. We need internet access for work. That's why we camp close to major cities. When arriving, WiFi was nonfunctional. Camp staff told us WiFi rarely works despite what the website and reservation agent assured us. We are willing to pay $30-$40 nonrefundable deposit and pay for the one night we stayed. Staff and General manager told us "they make no refunds for any reason". Only the owners can authorize refunds. Staff and general manager would not provide owner's contact info, and now more than 13 days later the manager told us yesterday that "if the owners had authorized a refund we would have received the refund already." He still will not provide owners contact info. Asked Visa to dispute the charge and asking for a refund, minus $30 nonrefundable deposit and one night charge of $45. Asking Visa to reconsider allowing this park to make Visa charges, considering their business practices. Surprising this site is approved by camper's associations and clubs.

Oak Plantation

We chose this park based on a recommendation from a fellow RV'er. We like the location better than James County Park. It is closer to plantations and downtown Charleston. We liked the park's spacious sites. We had a cement pad with full hook-ups. The park is very large and well maintained. Nice grassy areas with beautiful oak tres. There are plenty of shade trees. The office staff are nice and helpful. Savannah Hwy. is a major artery of transportation and can be slow at peak times of day. Gas, Publix and Costco are very close to park. Good Sam discount applied to daily rate.

Very Nice Park

Stayed here for 4-5 days this month and was very pleased with the facility. The sites were very nice pull-thrus and spacious enough. Paved roads with gravel sites, but site were fairly level. There are plenty of speed bumps, but the park is worth the stay. We are very particular about letting our dogs use the dog runs in most parks, but this one was large, spotless and well maintained. Our standard schnauzers really enjoyed their run after being contained in the Motorhome for 10 days.Kudos to the staff and other campers for keeping the facility clean.

A Haven in the South

Easy to find, and centrally located if you are visiting Charleston. A large park, but is very well kept. Spacious park, paved roads, spaces are grass next to concrete pads and picnic table. (I used wood blocks under my levelers.) We have a 38 foot RV with a toad. The laundry was clean, and there is a small store in the office (ice available.) They also have propane. Wi-Fi is available easy to connect. We would have liked to park in a spot next to a tree, but those were taken. (Ask for one when you make your reservation.) It rained like heck one of the nights we were there. The next morning we had a small lake in front of and to the side of our RV. Watch the grading where you park if it's rainy season. The people operating the park are friendly. Even with all the other campers staying there, it was very quiet. The park is centrally located to all the local attractions. Gas and restaurants are close by. We recommend this park and would stay there again! They are a Good Sam member.

Good place for Charleston visit

I stayed for two days while touring Charleston. The campground is very spacious and well-maintained, with concrete pads and grass. Showers are spotless, almost like home showers. The drive to Charleston is fine without traffic, but one day the traffic was backed for miles. There are some nice restaurants very close: Angel Oak, which is amazing, and, the Glass Onion a few more miles down the road.
