Traveler Tips

Ten of the site just have water.
They are rebuilding and pouring lots of money into this park after a hurricane in 2008. It's lovely!

Nice and quiet

These sites were lovely. We stayed on the beach side, and it was a very short walk to the beach. Each site has a covered picnic table and water/electric hookups. No sewer at site, but there is a dump station up front by the gate. Only complaint was having to pay the additional $5 per person park entry fee on top of the $25 we paid to park our RV. The restroom showers were clean with good water pressure. No complaints.

Lovely Island State Park

This was our first ever stay at a Texas State Park and although there were little idiosyncrasies about the check-in process and how the Texas Park Pass system work our stay here for 1 week was lovely.
There are sites on the beach side of the main road -- which sit behind a fore-dune just off the beach. There are sites on the bay side of the main road which views of the Galveston Bay -- and we actually preferred those. There is a price differential for beach/bay.
With water and electric at the site and a dump on the way out of the park we had everything we needed. There was an accessible Verizon 4GLTE signal and site lines for our satellite antenna.
We were quite satisfied with the park and the site. Would revisit in a heartbeat.
