True luxury RV Resort
Buckhorn Lake Resort is positively a first class RV resort. We have visited several times and keep pinching ourselves to make sure we're not dreaming! The park is designed by sections featuring RV types, adults, pets, preferred amenities, etc. Most sites, if not all, have concrete pads and picnic tables. Many sites have wrought iron patio tables/chairs on concrete patios. The grounds are immaculately maintained and the common buildings are squeaky clean. Activities abound. Adjacent to the park is private full-time residential RV community with upscale freestanding casitas that are privately owned. These privately owned units demand, no doubt, the campground be kept to such high standards. The grounds feature man made, stocked catch & release fishing. There are two swimming pools, one for adults only. The convenience store is a plus and there are several rental cabins available. Free wi-fi, as well. Some sites have trees and park is big rig friendly.
Buckhorn Lake Resort has easy access, approximately one mile off I-10 and centrally located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, about 45 min. West of San Antonio, 3 hr. From Houston, 1 hr. Austin, etc. Wonderful Interstate access and all paved roads in and out of park.
We prefer to stay in the Executive Section, facing the lake, which is a premium section and slightly more expensive. However, at an average of $45/night, with a weekly rate discount, we consider Buckhorn a real bargain. The only downside.....make sure you call ahead for reservations. A park like this is very popular. And, don't let the summer heat worry you because we have stayed there in July and the Hill Country's lack of humidity and cool breezes are quite pleasant. BTW, they have an awesome July 4th fireworks display, parade, etc. We had a blast!
Perfect 10
True destination resort. First class with concrete pads & patios and beautiful scenery. Catch & release fishing, country store, activities, 2 pools, adults-only section, fitness facility, pristine!
Rally at Buckhorn Lake Resort
We stayed here for three days for a motorhome rally. Evening meals were catered by the park. The food and service were excellent!!! We were in a waterfront site with a beautiful view out the front. This park has many planned activities throughout the year and something is going on within the park almost every day or night.
