Owner Notes

Several golf courses nearby, very close to AT&T Center and Ft Sam Houston, close to SAMCC, convenient to all major expressways. 5 minutes from downtown. Very quiet park, great for seniors. Safe, economical, and friendly. New Time-Warner Cable in many sites.

Good for short stay or overnight

Park advertised that they are renovated. We saw a half built fence. Otherwise you park on the grass, pot holes in the driveways. The people are very nice and friendly. This saves the day on the stay. Was disappointed on the ' renovation '

A total dive, but quiet and close to attractions

This is not a big rig resort by any stretch of the imagination (or even a high-priced KOA!). Sites are short and smaller, lots of older trailers parked here long-term, and while the park itself is fairly clean, the surrounding properties have excess junk and old vehicles parked in backyards, etc. But, if you can overlook those shortcomings, Dixie is not such a bad place. The manager was extremely friendly and welcoming, they have a nice clubhouse and laundry room, and it's location is near all the downtown attractions as well as the greenbelt bike/walking path. The KOA is just down the street but much higher priced, so Dixie was acceptable for the couple of days we were in San Antonio.

Park wifi was pretty faint from where we were at (in the back of the park), but Verizon LTE was strong and OTA TV stations plentiful.

Best of all, when my RV fridge happened to break down at 4:00pm on a Friday afternoon, the best mobile RV tech I've ever experienced was located just a block away (Alan from San Antonio RV). He came right over and had my fridge running again within an hour for less than $50!
