Not enough restrooms for an RV Park of this size. Our "shady" Site was surrounded by 4 trees, 3 of which were less than 3 foot high. Wifi offline until we complained , then soon reached it's capacity with no more connection to the internet. Close to the highway and ATV rent-out with starting point seemingly direct in the Resort.
These people are shady. If you are late with your payment and have to leave lets say on the 3rd of the month. They will run out and threaten to put a lock on your wheels and make you pay for electrick and water or they will call the police. They are not very nice people. They seem nice until the fecal hits the fan, don't stay here.
We really enjoy staying there. Close to our grandchildren etc. the problem we have is they don't have a dog park and they don't enforce rules about dogs. The beautiful grassy area especially in the far corner of the park near the playground tends to be a toilet for dogs. I watched out our window when whew we're there and everyone with dogs let them pee or poop there. Some don't even pick up after them. I won't walk there or let my grand children walk on that area because of this unsanitary place.
This is the worst campground we have stayed at.
Cons-
Highway noise is insane
Facilities are the shits
Washing machine doesn't work properly, need to wring my clothes out before putting in dryer
75% of sites are permanent residents
Pros-
Ummm, none
We have visted this place once a year for the last 3 years when doing the doctors appointments. The park has changed owners/manager and it shows. The new management is not friendly. We had reservations and arrived a few minutes after 4pm and they were already closed (I had told her I would be there between 330 430). I called...no answer...no return phone call. After hours checkin was not posted. We tried to find a space...the first two the 50 amp electric did not work. The 3rd had no sewer or water was turned off. We left the RV and went to stay the night with our son. We went to check in the next morning at 9 and they were closed (hours posted said 8 to 5). My husband talked with a guy in the park and he told him of a space he could move to and he did. Once we did track down the manager..he was so mad that we moved! She was yelling at my husband. I told my husband that we were leaving and were only paying $15 for parking the RV. The husband came out and said he was calling the sheriff. We just left!
This park is very, very old and consists mainly of permanent mobile homes. In fact there exist only about 10 RV sites scattered amongst them. It is a 55+ age park and many of the residents are "snow birds" only there for 4-5 months of the year. The showers, rest rooms and laundry are old and run down. The park is filled with old oak trees which provide shade but also shed debris, pollen and insects that make keeping your rig clean nearly impossible. A variety of questionable persons are employed by the park management for maintenance work. And all such work is scheduled with no consideration to the tenants. Routinely we'd be woken up to lawn mowers and leaf blowers passing our bedroom window at 08:00. If ever in Largo again we'd stay elsewhere.

Major improvements
This park has underwent a major renovation and updating with more to come. An indoor pool and new clubhouse are planned. Even the name is changed. It is now Elephant Butte Lake RV Resort. The entrance is now off Hwy 195 so the new address is 402 Hwy 195, Elephant Butte. The
website is now elephantbuttelakervresort.com and email at [email protected]. We are spending a month here in a motorhome at a very attractive
winter rate. They are currently offering specials and accept most club card for discounts. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Very quiet at night. I would recommend this park to anyone. check their website for an excellent video.
