Wisconsin Ridge: Wonderful campground on the bluffs overlooking the confluence of the Wisconsin and Mississippi Rivers and Prairie du Chien. Campsites on the bluff side are non-electric. Although the campground is rolling, most sites are relatively flat. Modern bathrooms with separate shower rooms. Lots of trails, canoeing etc.
Homestead Campground is in a former prairie. Much more open and less scenic.
This was formerly housing for the Air Force base judging by the curbs you have to mount to get into your gravel parking spot.
Sign said 'electric only' but we tried 4 campsites and couldn't get any electric. We didn't stay.
Only a few miles from I57 but so quiet. Lots of flat, gravel sites. Electric at sites; water at faucets throughout campground and dump. Good bathrooms. Lots of trails.
We got the 15% Good Sam discount. Could have gotten the 50% Passport America discount if we had reserved ahead! FMCA, AARP, AAA, Golden Age, active or retired military/police/fire/EMS all 15% off.
Wonderful location. Walkable to the Riverfront District in Little Rock and to downtown North Little Rock and/or the trolley. Lovely downtown with interesting restaurants. Close to the Arena.
You get off 98, go about 9 miles, and then a few more down a dirt road. We were there during the week and there was a loud, drunken group that didn't quiet down until after 2 am. Doesn't appear to be any enforced quiet hours. The sites are ample, it is right on the Suwanee river, the showers are very nice, but I wouldn't go there again.
Shady park on the Indian River near Canaveral. Reasonably sized sites. Nice 2-section tiled showers. Paved roads, sand sites. Nice pool and recreation hall.
Yes, it is right off I40. But it is VERY nice. Concrete roads and pads, big table, pool and spa (not open March 13), very nice continental breakfast, immaculately clean. Would definitely come here again!
