Nestled in the Texas Hill Couuntry and just a short drive from Dallas Fort Worth this is a great destination with lots to do and see. I love in Fort Worth, this is about a 45 min drive for me and one of my favorite places to get away. This is one of those places that has so much to do and see you won't get board. There is swimming, canoeing, fishing, bike riding, hiking and rock climbing just to name a few. All in some of the most beautiful surroundings in the state.
P.S. Get the Texas Parks Pass it will save and pay for itself in a very shot time.
Nice park with many shaded sites close to the water. Lots of things to do for the whole family. They even have a fishing pond for the kids. Nice clean restrooms with showers. Best and worst are the hills; bring leveling blocks. We went on a cold day (so my wife says) so the store was not open they say it's nice with kayak rentals and such.
Get the park pass If you plan on going to any Texas State Parks, it's $60 a year and you get free admission and discounts on camping. It will pay for it self.
This is a great place with very friendly people. They have a nice store, beach and camp sites with a great view of the lake. Some sites have sewer, water and electric the best area however only has water and electric. The only down side is some of the roads are rough and it is hard to know where to park your camper (no pads).
This is a great place to stay. There are lots of places to go and see Austin, Fredricsburg, Lukenbach, New Braunfels, and even San Antonio is only short day trip away.
This is the beautiful hill country of Texas a great place to take a motorcycle ride.
Great place to stay, very scenic and clean. Nice clean showers. With all the great trees there is no satellite or cell phone service. But hay you come here to get away!
lots of things to do and see. Caves, castles, hiking trails and swimming too. The only things I don't like are 1) close campsites. 2) Dirty bath house. 3) lots of trash on the trails. Other than that I will go back.
