Getting even better

This is our second time here. They have added some nice sites with concrete patios and kamping cabins. Still a great place to stay.

Campground transformation

Brown Mountain Beach Resort near Lenoir, NC has recently re-opened for RV's.
The owners cleared out all the old premanent trailers and really cleaned up the place.
He is building 6 full hook-up RV sites right on Wilson Creek; he is also putting in some RV sites for longer term rentals.
Some of the nice things about this CG are:
1) Trout fishing 20' from your site. It's awesome.
2) The scenery is breath taking, right on the creek.
3) It's isolated and quiet. No cell phones, no cable TV, no antenna TV.
4) There is wi-fi closer to the clubhouse.
5) Large swimming hole behind the rustic clubhouse.
6) Water sports up the creek. i.e. tubing & rafting.
7) The owners are really nice Christian people.
8) They also have 6 eclectic cottages for rent, some on the creek with a hot tub outside.
It is still a work in progress but it's coming along nicely.
If you like trout fishing and peace & quiet, this place is great.

Nice KOA if you get the right site

Most sites are nice, a few beware of. They're level with good water pressure. Nice location on the intercoastal with a pier for fishing. Great place to base for touring New Bern. It is over priced, though.

A diamond in the rough

This was an RV park for years, but run down. New owners have cleaned out the trash and are putting it bach into shape. The place is beautiful! The owners are awesome! No cable TV, no cell phone service, nothing fancy but beautiful scenery and great trout fishing. Give this place a year and I'll give it 5 stars.

Stiil the best

Spent another 3 day weekend here. It stillis one of the best campgrounds we've stayed. Large level sites, clean bath house, free wi-fi, activites. No cable, but I was able to receive 27 digital channels on my antenna. We'll be back soon.

A disappointing KOA

The other review must have been written by an emplyee.
Small sites, had to park next to our trailer, 8" away. Many long term trailers with junk around them. Obscure cable stations. Low water pressure. This KOA needs lots of work. Next to I-77, highway noise. People on the office were very nice, though. A too expensive CG.

Nice trailer park, I mean campground

This KOA has a lot going for it. Nice nature trail, large lake, indoor heated pool, friendly people, 10 miles from downtown Charleston. Unfortunly, it also has many permanent RVs that makes it feel more like a trailer park. Good wi-fi, cable TV, water pressure, large sites. Lots of construction & traffic going on for a while, too.

A diamond in the rough

This park is being redone by the new owners. If we're lucky, they'll include additional RV sites when reconstruction is completed. The park is secluded and directly on Wilson Creek. Great trout fishing, beautiful views, and awesome people(owners).
No cell phone service, but wi-fi works well.

Good family park

Also a good place to stay while visiting Hershey. Many sites are tight to get in or out of. Facility is clean. Cable TV quality is very poor. Bathrooms were clean as was the pool. There's a trolley that brings you to the Hershey factory.

Family RV Resort

Great place for the family. Many sites are unlevel, most are shaded. Wi Fi is over priced at $8 a day! Nice amenities, lots of kids on bikes riding up & down the roads. Good base camp for visiting the area. Too expensive. Bathrooms & showers are clean.

 $72.00
