Nice place although the staff is a bit rude. Nice view and decent fishing.
Bathroom facilities are ok but nothing to write home about. Most definitely needs more dumping stations. With no full hookups available it is a long way to pull a dumping tank if you extend the stay.
We tried to stay here, but left after 10 minutes. We had a reservation and when we arrived were assigned a spot, but we're told that they weren't sure if someone was in it. We couldn't even find the spot because there are no numbers!
The "lake" looks like a mud pit and the restroom building looks like it should be condemned. They couldn't figure out how to give a refund, but it appeared unsafe enough that I gave up the $35 as a lesson learned.
Beautiful place. Nice campground with good facilities. Take advantage of the live outdoor musical, it's worth the money. Another thing is if you want or need to check in with someone, do it before you enter the canyon. No cell phone or Internet in the bottom. Could be good or bad depending on your point of view.
Would also recommend you arrive during daylight. I wouldn't want to drive those roads for the first time at night. 10% grades!
Wish this was closer to home for weekend trips!
